Speech for
Peace Day Santa Fe |
We
were very honored that Raven was asked to give the opening prayer
for Peace Day Santa Fe. These are the notes from his speech.
"My family and I moved here on Easter Sunday,
2000 to live on the route of the pilgrims to the Sanctuario de Chimayo.
(The Sanctuario de Chimayo is considered the Lourdes of America. Every
Easter, thousands of people walk from Santa Fe to Chimayo to be blessed
by the healing energy.) We chose to live near the City of Holy Faith
(Santa Fe) at the foot of the blood of Christ Mountains (the Sangre
de Cristos). This is the land of healing. The place of the 1st Church.
The 1st Capital. The ancestral Puebloans chose these lands long before
that, because of the energies and beauty here as well.
This is also the location of the building of the first
9 Fires of Peace Wheel, initiating the 9 years of change leading up
to 2012, a time much talked about in the prophecies of the indigenous
people. This 4 corners region is also the Head of the Serpent of the
Americas, the serpent made of interlinking mountain ranges that connects
all of the Americas. The Hopi and Navajo people knew this when they
choose this land. It is also the heart of Turtle Island, North America.
In this special place, this powerful place, we come together here
and now to pray peace, to send out our voices, thoughts, intentions,
and dreams of the world we choose to create. With the power of community
coming together for a common purpose, combined with the healing energies
of this land, we can create huge change and transformation for ourselves,
our community, and our world.
For those of us who have moved here from other places,
we know the profound healing that takes place here. Many of us came
here not fully knowing why. For most of us, it has been, and is, a
place of huge transformation. I was once told that Santa Fe sits on
a bed of rose quartz. I do not know if this is true, but it certainly
makes sense.
I was writing something and began to abbreviate Mother
Earth and realized the abbreviation for Mother Earth is M.E. - ME.
Me and Mother Earth are the same. What we do to her, we do to ourselves
and vice versa. Then I wrote something and abbreviated whole earth,
which was WE. And I thought "How interesting." The whole
earth and all of us that live here are WE. Then I looked at the United
States and abbreviated it, which of course is U.S. - US. Us usually
creates an us and them mentality of separation. So if we can drop
the US and the ME, all we have left is WE.
With the ancestors and ancient ones, the spirits of
the land, and our focused intention, we are about to create a vortex
of healing and rejuvenation that will spread throughout the world
and expand to encompass ME and radiate out into the Universe.
The Meditation
Please stand up, place both feet flat on the ground.
Feel Mother Earth (ME) beneath you, send roots out of the bottom of
your feet connecting with her. Feel her strength combining with you
own.
Now look up to Father Sky. See the beauty there. Connect
with the energies of the Father, the masculine energy that will balance
the feminine energy of the mother. Bring that balance into yourself.
Feel the harmony that is created.
Bring this energy into your heart. Let it build there
getting brighter and brighter, stronger and stronger. Feel it begin
to radiate out from you. This light is Peace, Love, and Joy. It emanates
out from your heart encompassing your whole body. Bask in the radiance,
the beauty.
Continue to strengthen this light as it spreads out
from you. It touches the people around you and they bask in the radiance.
The Peace, Love and Joy, your light continues to grow.
Expand to everyone in the Plaza (where the meditation
was being held). Now we are as one huge light, many smaller lights
coming together to create one huge one.
Now with a common goals as a group we expand our light
throughout Santa Fe, to all of New Mexico, to the 4 corners region
of the United States, to the entire United States, to the entire world.
Basking in the radiant glory of all that is, bringing
harmony and Universal Peace to ME, humanity, and other beings that
share this world with us.
We are the creators of our reality. We are the creators
of this new world - a world of peace, love and joy."
