The
4 Indigenous Prophecies
|
There
are many prophecies that have been told in many cultures all around
the world. These prophecies tell of good times and troubled times.
Four prophecies that I have a direct connection with are; The 7
Fire Prophecies of the Anishnabe, The Eagle and the Condor, The
Serpent of the Americas and the Mayan Calendar 2012. As part of
the 9 Fires Global Peace Initiative and the 9 Fires Peace Pilgrimage
for the Americas I am closely involved with these prophecies, as
you will see.
The
9 Fires is a continuation of the 7 Fires. The Serpent of the Americas
is the route the Peace Team will travel, assisting in the healing
of the people and the land throughout the Americas. Bringing together
the people of the north and south is another reason for the pilgrimage
as told in the Eagle and the Condor. The Global Project is directly
related to the Mayan calendar with the completion happening on Dec,
21st 2011, giving one year to integrate the new energies before
the transition that will occur on Dec 21st 2012.
I
would like to share these prophecies with you. The renditions below
are my personal understanding of these teachings based on the way
that they were told to me. If you find any discrepancies or errors
please let me know so that I may correct them. I tell these stories
with an open heart and in a good way. I ask for forgiveness from
the elders for any mistakes that I may make in their telling. I
hope you enjoy and find wisdom in receiving these sacred teachings.
The
7 Fire Prophecies
For
thousands of years my people lived in peace on the northeastern
shores of what is now called North America. One could climb to the
top of a hill or ridge and look out over the land to see children
playing and men and women hard at work. These were good times. There
was respect for each other and the land. People lived in harmony
with Mother Nature and all of her creatures. Elders were honored
for their wisdom and neighbors could trust each other. There was
a sense of calm and serenity that permeated the atmosphere and all
was good. These people, my people, are known as the Anishnabek,
“The True Men.” They live as far south as Virginia reaching
north to the Arctic Circle and from the Atlantic Ocean to the Rocky
Mountains. They are also known by names such as, Cree, Ojibwe, Micmac,
Abenaki, Lenne Lenape, Maliseet, Montagnais, and many, many more.
Regardless of the name that is currently used we are all brothers
and sisters with common interests and views.
About
1000 years ago 7 Prophets came to the people. They came with stories
and predictions of the future. Some of it was wonderful and some
of it was not. These prophets and what they told are known as the
Seven Fire Prophesies.
The
first prophet came to the people and said, “In the time of
the First Fire the people will rise up and follow the Sacred Megis
Shell to the chosen ground of the Anishnabe. There you will find
an island shaped like a turtle and food that grows on water. This
will be related to the purification of Mother Earth. If you do not
go you will be destroyed.” There were many meetings and discussions.
Some people did not want to leave their homes, while others decided
to follow the Sacred Shell to the land of the setting sun. Those
that stayed are now known as the Abenaki, People of the Dawn. Five
hundred years later these people would be the first to come into
contact with the light skinned race from across the ocean. Their
stories and what happened then are a part of history.
The
second prophet told the people that they would recognize the Second
Fire because they would be camped along side a sweet water sea.
Here they would lose their ways and their purpose would be forgotten.
A young boy would come and show them their way back to their traditional
ways and they would continue their journey. They would follow stepping-stones
across the water to the future home of their people.
The
third prophet came and encouraged them to keep moving for they were
not yet at the chosen place. They must continue to move west to
the place where food grows on water and the Sacred Megis will rise
again to show them the way. They soon found the island where they
were to make their new home, a sweet water sea where rice grows
on water. Today this area is known as the Great Lakes.
The
fourth and fifth prophets came together. They told of the coming
of the light skinned race from across the ocean. The prophets told
the people to be aware of the face being worn by the light skinned
people. “ If they come wearing the face of brotherhood then
there will be a time of wonderful change for generations. Two nations
will join as one to make a mighty nation. However, if they come
wearing the face of death, beware. The problem will be that these
faces look much the same and it will be necessary for you to look
below the surface to uncover the truth. You shall know if the face
they wear is the face of death for the rivers will run with poison
and the fish will be unfit to eat. Do not trust them until they
prove themselves to you.” We all know now the face that was
worn by this light skinned race for our lands have been stripped,
our waters polluted and the freedom of the people taken away.
The
sixth prophet told of this deception. Children were taken away from
their parents and the teachings of the elders. Their language and
culture were stripped away. The people started dying at an early
age for they had lost their reason for living. These times were
confusing to all involved. The secret societies and medicine people
went underground. They held ceremony in secret and the ancient ways
began to disappear. The sacred scrolls and text were hidden away
so as not to fall into the wrong hands. It was said that when the
Native people could practice their spirituality with out fear that
a boy would come to show them where the sacred scrolls were hidden.
This would be the beginning of the seventh fire.
The
seventh prophet was different. He was young and had a strange light
in his eyes. He would tell of a time when a new people would arise,
a people that would embrace the old ways. They would awaken to the
need to establish harmony and balance with the Native people, they
would see the damage that had been done to our environment and they
would want to change these things. They would seek out the wisdom
of the elders and the ancient ways of the people would return. Sacred
ceremony would once again be available and healing would take place.
This would be a wonderful time of brotherhood and peace. This time
would lead to the eighth fire, the fire that would complete the
circle of life, mend the hoop, and bring healing to Turtle Island
and Mother Earth.
We
are now in a new age and there is a new fire, a ninth fire, a fire
of completion and renewal, the fire of creation that lives at the
center of the Circle of Life. The time of the 9th Fire began December
21st 2002 and will end on December 21st 2011. Many of you will recognize
this date as exactly one year before the date the Mayans predicted
will be the end of time. This is not a prediction of Armageddon
and destruction. Quite to the contrary, this is a prediction of
the beginning of a new era, an era splendid in Peace, Harmony and
a new Unity Consciousness where all beings are considered sacred
and part of creation. Where we live side by side with our neighbors
in trust and compassion. Where we honor Mother Earth and all of
our relations and recognize that we all come from the same place.
It is interesting that we had to lose our way to find our way. My
ancestors lived in this way a long time ago along the east coast
of Turtle Island. Now is the time for us, and all of our relations,
to return to that way of living. It no longer matters the color
of a person’s skin or their country of origin. We as a human
race are bridging the gaps and mending the Circle of Life that we
had broken long ago. The time is now. This is a time to choose Peace,
Love and Compassion, to live in Harmony with one another and all
of creation.
The
reality that we live in is ours to create, make it a good one.
The
Eagle and the Condor
Before
the arrival of the pale skinned people from across the waters, the
indigenous people of Turtle Island (the Americas) shared many things
in common. They traded with each other for materials and food. They
shared stories and sacred times together. It was not all wonderful
and there were times of war and darkness but nothing compared to
what followed the arrival of the Europeans.
Ever
since that time many indigenous people have told the story of the
Eagle and the Condor. This story tells of a time when the people
of the Americas will once again share ceremony and teachings. Many
Elders and Medicine People have been traveling back and forth now
reestablishing the connections and bringing the people together
once again. The prophecy says that when the Eagle and the Condor
fly side by side again we will experience healing of the land and
the people. That time is now.
As
part of the Peace Pilgrimage for the Americas we bring the teachings
from the North to share with the people from the South.
The
Serpent of the Americas
The
Serpent of the Americas refers to the Serpent that resides in the
mountain ranges that stretch from North to South America. The head
of the serpent is said to be in the Four Corners Region of the United
States. The heart is in southern Mexico and Guatemala, and the tail
is the Andes Mountains of South America. The head is watched over
and cared for by the indigenous people of the Southwest, the heart
is the place of the Maya and the tail connects with the Inca. In
the early 1900’s the Panama Canal was created. Since that time
there has been much turmoil and chaos that has taken place in Central
America and parts of South America. One of the reasons for this
is the severing of the spine and interruption in energy flow between
the North and South. The civil conflict within Guatemala and destruction
of the Rainforest are just two of many examples of how this disruption
has manifested. Over the years many Elders and Medicine People from
North and South have traveled and performed ceremony to assist in
the healing of this wound. The healing continues. One thing that
is happening is a large influx of Spiritual people to the 4 Corners
Region to build the energies in the head of the Serpent. Many ceremonies
have also been performed here and the energy continues to build
as more people come into the area and the healing takes place on
the land. The Maya perform ceremony to heal the Heart and the Inca
strengthen the energies in the tail. As the energies are balanced
and build in power the healing will take place. As this occurs the
peoples of the Americas will be brought back together, creating
harmony and balance for all peoples of the Americas. During the
Peace Pilgrimage we will create Medicine Wheels for Peace on both
sides of the Panama Canal to further assist in this healing. We
will also build Medicine Wheels for Peace throughout our journey
to connect the people and assist in opening the pathways once again
so that the energies may flow freely and strongly between north
and south.
The
Mayan Calendar and 2012
There
are many stories about 2012 and what it represents. The calendars
of the Mayan people are considered to be some of the most accurate
in the world. December 21st 2012 is said to be the end of time,
as we know it. It is also the beginning of a new time, a new reality.
A reality that is yet unknown to us. Some people refer to this time
as the transition from the 4th to the 5th world, the 5th to the
6th, or the shift from the 3rd dimension to the 5th dimension. It
does not matter what we call it. What matters is that we recognize
it as a time of change and growth for humanity and Mother Earth.
The Elders tell us that this new reality is ours to create. It is
our choice whether we continue to follow the path we have for so
long, a path filled with fear, anger, destruction and hatred. Or
do we choose to create a new world filled with love, tolerance,
compassion and wisdom. We must go beyond our fears and illusions.
We have the opportunity to create something wonderful for our children
and their children for many generations to come. The choice is yours.
Which reality do you choose?
The
9 Fires Global Peace Initiative is a worldwide project that corresponds
with the Mayan Calendar in relation to timing and creation of Peace
on Earth. As we change our level of consciousness as individuals
we do so for all of humanity. As we create Peace Wheels and anchor
in the higher vibrational energies of Peace and Love we heal the
past and create the pathway for the new reality to manifest. Join
